Restaurants and bars are open, and we are discovering new places in Geneva. 😊 We are happy to share with you our last uncovering in United Nations area: restaurant Mama&Zita concept inspired by the Mediterranean tradition: gastronomy, product quality, the sense of hospitality and the sharing spirit that are a real lifestyle. The Mediterranean food is authentic with a modern twist.

After 6 months of renovation, this Bistrot-Chic restaurant was opened in January 2020 by Younes Ouldammar (unfortunately this year was a little bit difficult for all new restaurants and bars). Younes is a Swiss-Moroccan national who graduated from the Hotel Management School of Lausanne (EHL). After his graduation, he hold several Marketing and Sales positions for renowned brands such as Elizabeth Arden, Calvin Klein and Gucci. Thanks to his commercial endeavours he had the opportunity to travel extensively across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, India and he made a lot of contacts in the luxury industry.

In 2010, attracted by the digital world, he Co-founded MyPrivateBoutique with two friends. After this exiting and successful experience in the entrepreneurial world, he recently decided to return to his first passion, the food and beverage business, by opening the Mama & Zita restaurant.

This spot is in quiet area, so you can enjoy the terrace and avoid the noise of the city. We went there for a diner on Thursday night, and it was amazing, we really enjoyed our evening! Beautiful place with delicious food, big terrace (it looks like in Paris), and friendly staff. On the front Rodolfo the Somellier and Rafaele are taking good care of the customers. Pasquale, the young creative Napolitan executive Chef has in his team Jaouad, an experienced Morrocan Chef and Ivano, an inspired Napolitan pizzaiolo.

The decoration of the restaurant is made exclusively by second-hand furniture giving to the place a very cosy and warm atmosphere. We loved their bar and pizza oven (was brought straight from Napoli)! This place is good for: after work apero with friends or colleagues, romantic dinner or family dinner. In addition, if you want to have more privacy or sheltered place you can book private space with table for around 8-10 people. It is very convenient for special event or family dinner.

Our table was outside, we felt like we are somewhere on holidays. We suggest booking your table in advance, because it is quite busy, specially during lunch time. We had Spritz followed by 3 different starters to share: carpaccio of Sicilian scampi, octopus, and crispy wild prawns. After we took pizza Di Parma and we have finished our dinner with Chef’s tiramisu and strawberry mille-feuille (highly recommend). All food was great and fresh.

For this passionate team of this restaurant, a warm hospitality, a great food and sens of details are ‘key’ to offer a real experience to the customers and make the difference in this competitive sector.
