For those who want to take a break from the city and feel like they aren’t in Geneva I suggest to visit Cottage Café.

This is a small house located in Brunswick garden. When you are sitting on the terrace, you have an impression that you are on vacation. It’s a really beautiful spot to go, I love having breakfast in this café. They serve the best bircher muesli topped with the fresh fruits as well as tartines which are delicious (you have big variety of jams and honey). You can also taste delicious dark BIO bread.

Sometimes I go to walk with my dog in this garden and after I sit down to have a cup of tea or coffee in the cottage. It is a peaceful and quiet place, I love to have a break from the noise and chaos of the city. Their terrace is beautifully set with wooden tables, chairs and umbrellas. When it’s a little bit fresh outside you can wrap yourself with the soft blankets to warm up. Even inside of the restaurant it’s cosy and charming; there are not many tables so it’s better to make a reservation. The decoration makes you feel like in the village house where you have a view of the garden.

During the lunch you have options between 3 starters, 4 dishes of the day (meat, fish, pasta
and lasagne) and 3 salads. I highly recommend you to reserve the table in advance because this place is so
beloved by locals and tourists. Luckily I live not far away from this place and I can often enjoy my breakfast there. 🙂

For dinner starting at 18h00 you have a choice of tapas and mezzes. The price range is between 9
to 16 CHF. It’s better to reserve the table for the lunch or dinner because it’s all the time full.
For breakfast they don’t take the reservations.

There is a good wine list offered by the cafe. One more thing that I like about this place is that they have a choice of house made drinks such as green jasmine ice tea or ginger drink and homemade sorbets. Additionally to this I recommend you to try appetizing cheesecake and chocolate fondant. Yummy…
